Hi everyone! This year I will be a freshman at the University of Illinois and I will be majoring in Agricultural Communications. I am from Carthage, IL and I have had an exciting summer. As soon as I graduated from Illini West High School I was off to the Ozarks to attend my cousin’s wedding. Then in a few short weeks I headed to the Illinois FFA State Convention. There I entered my chapter’s scrapbook in the scrapbook contest and did my duties as the Section 11 President. After convention I took my two-year-old horse to the veterinarian over in Missouri and I watched him have surgery! That was quite the experience! I also went to St. George Island in Florida for vacation. We stayed in a house right on the beach. It was amazing!! St. George Island is known for their sea turtles, and we had a sea turtle nest right in front of the house! We also went deep-sea fishing. Well, we tried. We went about 20 miles out in the Gulf of Mexico when the motor on the boat started to go bad. So we headed back to the shore at a slow pace so the motor wouldn’t over heat. It took us about three hours to get back. That is a memory that we will never forget. At the end of the summer I was a contestant in the Hancock County Fair Queen Pageant. I was the first runner-up! Not bad for my first pageant! Between all of that I would spend my time helping my dad out on the farm and hanging with friends. This summer has been amazing. A few things about me are that I absolutely love the country duo, Sugarland, I have a corgi named Haydn, and I love to travel! I am very excited to be staying at the 4H House this year. I am ready to make new friends and have the time of my life in college!
